THE MAKING OF A SIGN
Specializing in One of a Kind,Top Quality,
Wood Burned Signs & Hand Painted Skulls
Everything is first drawn in pencil. After that  the
letters are then routored.
Once the letters were completed the Hawk is then
burned into the wood. I start by outlining the Hawk
and his eye.
Upon completion of the Hawk, I than stained the entire
sign, except the Hawk.  Stain is  a great way to enhance
the sign, as well as help  protect it  from the elements.
I've began experimenting with the colored stains, and
thought blue would represent the sky.
Once the stain is dry, I than painted the Hawk, using
only two colors yellow and white. After that several
coats of Clear  Lacquer are  applied. This is what gives
it added protection, and a brilliant shine.
After the outline is complete, I begin shading. This is
where it seems to take on a life of it's own.
As a final touch, the letters are painted white. The sign
is now complete.
